APPEARANCE:

A small tree, up to 6m tall. Growing from 50-2100m in elevation. The wood of the Koai‘a is much denser and harder than that of is much larger cousin, the Koa tree.

Flower: 8mm in diameter. Cream colored.

Leaves: Narrow and elliptic. 7.5-26cm long. 0.5-2.5cm wide. Sickle shaped.
